Vizsla Rescue is a charity which provides rehoming services for Hungarian Vizslas. In order to provide this service it is necessary for us to collect and process personal information about you. The information collected and processed will vary depending on the type of service being provided. The services for which personal information is collected and the types of information are listed below:

  • You may have asked us to rehome or assist in rehoming your dog
  • You may have applied to adopt one or more of the dogs for which Vizsla Rescue are looking for a suitable home

What information do we hold and about who?

This information may include:

  • Details of your dog’s microchip, vet and pedigree
  • Basic details about you such as your address, telephone number, job/retirement status, approximate age and email address.
  • Details of your physical home and garden (and land) if you are adopting a dog.
  • Details of your health or medical conditions and treatments if provided by you as part of the background and explanation of your dog’s issues or the reasons why you wish to rehome a dog
  • Proof of identify and address such as driving licences, passports and utility letters to show our volunteers if required.

The categories of person we may hold data about includes:

  • Applicants to adopt dogs
  • Applicants requiring our help in rehoming their dogs

Who will we share your information with and why?

All personal data held is processed in accordance with the data protection legislation. The Data Controller for the information outlined in this privacy notice is Vizsla Rescue.

What is the legal basis for us to process your data?

The legal basis is as follows:

  • Carrying out processing necessary to fulfil obligations under a contract to which you are a party
  • In the case of information disclosed by you about your health or a medical condition, your explicit consent

How long do we keep your data?

We will only keep your information for the minimum period necessary and only for as long as required to serve the purpose it was collected for. All information will be held securely and destroyed under confidential conditions.

Your rights

The United Kingdom General Data Protection Regulations provide you with 8 rights in regards to your

personal data. These are the right to be informed, the right to access, the right to rectification, the right to erasure, the right to restrict processing, the right to data portability, the right to object and rights in relation to automated decision making and profiling.
